Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute
  4. Stir in lemon juice and zest, and season with salt and black pepper
  5. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water
  6. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine with the garlic mixture
  7. If needed, add reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency
  8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and toss again
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving
