Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • Pinch of salt

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium heat
  2. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, then remove from heat
  3. Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature
  4. In a bowl, mix the cooled syrup with lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt
  5. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and freeze for 1 hour
  6. Stir the mixture with a fork to break up ice crystals
  7. Return to the freezer and repeat stirring every 30 minutes for about 3 hours, until fully frozen
  8. Once ready, scoop into bowls and serve immediately
