Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C)
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  3. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract
  4. Mix well
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until combined
  7. Fold in the sliced almonds
  8. Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a log on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  9. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly golden
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes
  11. Slice the logs into 1-inch thick pieces
  12. Return the slices to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until crisp
